John Travolta Takes On The Mob In Mob Land UK Trailer

It’s been  an eternity  since we’ve talked about John Travolta in decent movie. Could that be about to change when he stars in gritty crime thriller Mob Land?

As we all know Travolta had a brilliant comeback in the 1990’s in Pulp Fiction. Life in front of the camera been great, if anything very forgettable and director Nicholas Maggio feature debut hopes to rectify that.

Vertigo Releasing have sent us the official Trailer for the film that also stars Stephen Dorff. Travolta plays a small town sheriff Bodie Davis up against a vicious, snakeskin boot wearing hitman, (played by Dorff). The film promises a sleek, bleak and thrilling excursion into the underbelly of rural American, a powerful commentary on the country’s opioid crisis.

This looks really intense stuff with some nice action. The burning question will Mob Land rise above the generic and mediocrity of his previous films? So far it looks better than what has gone before in his recent filmography…

The story of a struggling family man who is pushed, through pure desperation, to rob a pill mill. However, when the job turns violent, he will find himself hunted by both the police and the mafia ruling over Dixieland.

The film also stars Shiloh Fernandez, Ashley Benson, Emily Tremaine, Timothy V. Murphy, with Kevin Dillon. Mob Land will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 25th August.
