Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Debuts At Official Film Chart Top Spot

SPIDER-MAN™: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE
Na na na na na Spider-Man! Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse catapults straight in at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart.
The animated Spider-Man adventure, and follow-up to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse manages to outsell the rest of the Top 5 combined on digital s only.
In the film, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) returns as the web-slinging hero, this time encountering a team of Spider-People who he must work with to come up with a plan to handle a villain more powerful than they have ever encountered, posing a threat to the Multiverse.
As a result of Spider-Man’s success this week, The Little Mermaid slips down to Number 2 after a two-week stint at the top. The Super Mario Bros. Movie hangs on for another week at Number 3, while Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves drops to Number 4.
Epic deep-sea monster film The Meg holds on to a place in the Top 5 as fans revisit the film following the release of its sequel in cinemas, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 lifts 2 to Number 6.
Up one place is John Wick: Chapter 4 (7), while Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken lands a second week in the Top 10 (8). Former chart-topper Top Gun: Maverick holds tight on its position from last week (9).
Finally, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore returns to the Top 10, rising five to Number 10.
