Watch 17 Minute Featurette For The Mandalorian

Razor Crest (credit -Star Wars Wiki)

I’m going to it I’ve never seen The Mandalorian, nor will I probably see it as I have no interest in Disney+. That’s not anything negative towards Disney, the stuff I like from the studio I already have. If there was one thing to entice me to subscribe it would be The Mandalorian.

With the second season not far away, those fantastic talented folks at ILM (Industrial, Light & Magic) have created a new Featurette. Award winning ILM who delivered the VFX for the Star Wars franchise and one of their creations is the Razor Crest, the spaceship owned by the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin.

We know many shows and films the ships can look a little on the cheap side, ILM know Star Wars fans like it old school. ILM do deliver on the practical effects as much as the modern cutting edge technology, they know their stuff and have the awards to back that.

Below is an extensive 17 minute Behind The Scene Featurette/Documentary that looks into the creation of Razor Crest…

us as we journey behind the scenes of the Emmy™ Award-winning visual effects behind the first season of The Mandalorian. We’ll pull back the curtain on one of our favorite bounty hunter’s ship, the infamous Razor Crest and look at the distinctive former military ship from its initial concept design in Doug Chiang’s Lucasfilm art department through to ILM artists building the ship in the digital realm and as a practical miniature for filming. We’ll also look at the parallel development of the custom motion control camera system created by ILM Visual Effects Supervisor, John Knoll to allow for the first motion control shots to film at ILM in 15 years. We hope you enjoy this look ‘Inside ILM’.
